RE: K&N Air Filter Removed

Whoa John, there is no end of public statements and tests regarding the use of K&N style filters that cannot prove any advantage to the oiled style.Just because some people read these and give more credence to them then user biased reports does not make them any less intelligent. You defend your actions and experience as if they are the only right ones, maybe not.We all have opinions based on many things and experiences, each to his own.I have tried them and don't think they are worth it to me,am i a naysayer or authority, not a chance.Do what you want.

RE: K&N Air Filter Removed

Yup when I tried them I found them to be more effective if instead of waiting for the filter to be more efficient by getting dirty as everyone knows--I just threw in some dirt right off the bat.No clean oily filter for me,give me a dirty better working one.Seriously I did not see any advantage over OEM paper so quit the mess.

RE: Dsert Gem - Oliver

Desert Gem has always been a great place to stay and I have only seen a curt answer given out once.As I told the staff the individual should have been thrown out on his butt, they take way too much******from discourteous people who don't like rules.Well run.clean, and fun place, coffee group is always fun and informative.I do not have any interest in this park.If you don't reserve early you don't get a winter site. You get what you give.

RE: Anyone using the new Tow-n-see mirrors?

I use them on a 2006 Durango with the tear drop 5x7 mirrors and like them. They are easy to attach just use the suction screw to tighten or release.I use the flat one on the drivers side and convex on the passenger.Preposition your mirrors first then do a final power adjustment.

RE: Hwy 93 Golden to Jasper BC

eend, and others - Moraine lake is not near Field - up from Lake Louise. You probably meant Emerald Lake. Also - Rvers cannot take their rigs to Takkakaw Falls. Toads/tow vehicles only Tent campimg only at That cg! Thank you for correcting the locations and information.I can't believe anyone from Alberta giving that information and you certainly don't want to ever try the falls drive in a large motor home,it would be very dangerous,if you have driven it you know it.

RE: Going to Glacier?

Think it'll be OK in August? We're going to be coming back home to SoCal then, and going thru Yellowstone. We were there one time in Sept. and it got darn cold with snow on the mountains surrounding Yellowstone. Beautiful place and can't wait to see it again. Now you really have me confused,Yellowstone Montana?

RE: Help, New Yamaha 2400 won't run 13.5 AC

You have a locked rotor amperage at start up of over 35 amps.get a soft start kit and the yammy should hang in there long enough to roll it and bring down the amp. to running capacity.Doing a sequential start up as suggested above will help.

RE: Towing with a Chrysler Aspen??

I tow with a Durango hemi and you certainly will have the power, what you don't have is the wheel base, way too short, and the weight is too high. With a long heavy trailer you won't be happy driving.I would never trade a Durango or Aspen for a 1/2 ton and think it was about the same. You are going to have the tail wagging the dog.

RE: no sway but a little side to side on cross wind

If you are towing a 30' trailer with a 119" wheel base Durango I am surprised you only get minimal sway.Your ideal optimum length should be 25' or less and the least amount of weight swinging around behind you like a pendulum the better. The electronic stability program feature will help in a severe case but by then I think control problems are becoming secondary and functional air bags a priority.By all means do what ever can be done and stay off ice.Are you pulling a Salem 30BHBS,it is over 34' long and dry weight of 7200 lbs.The 5.7 hemi with 3.92 axles is only rated for 8200 lbs.Be safe and carefull.

RE: Awnings, To stake or not to stake...that is the question

If it is too windy to leave it out without staking and tying it down than it's too windy to leave it out safely. Besides if it is tied and staked, it takes longer to roll it up and that could be the time difference it takes to damage the awning in sudden gusty wind situations. Lots of folks will disagree with this opinion.. it's just one person's procedure and it has worked well for us. We camp a lot on the windy Oregon Coast. I agree totally,in Yuma we staked and tied and cross roped, but as the man in the RV shop said no awning is designed for 48 mph. winds. When we had to take it down it took forever with the sun room etc. out.after all these years we have gone back to taking it in and out every night and when we are gone.No more shaking and flapping at night, quieter also.If it is nice enough to sit outside it is out also, way less hassel.

RE: Need Dentist in Mexico by Yuma

A dentist in Los Algodonas told us that there are over 350 dentists there and that 185 were not either qualified, registered with the Mexican Dental Association,or licensed.Do your homework very carefully and the cheapest is not the best for sure.Ask for references and referrals,if they blink or hesitate move on.If they don't have enough pride to have a presentable office, they are only in it for the money.Ask for a tour and look at the premises and equipment, they should be proud to show it to you.If they are good they should also be prosperous.Cheap services and road side advertising are very common.Don't be afraid to pay for a consultation.
